Man arrested in connection with death of American national at a County Laois hotel must be released or charged today

The man arrested in connection with the death of an American national at a County Laois hotel must be released or charged today.

Aged in his thirties, he’s still being questioned in relation to the incident at Ballyfin Demesne on Tuesday night.

Gardaí had been called there shortly before 8pm where a man aged in his sixties was found dead after suffering what’s understood to have been a sustained assault.

The two men were known to each other.
