Man arrested on suspicion of money laundering while €100,000 worth of drugs as well as cash later seized.
Gardaí stopped a vehicle on the M8 near Thurles shortly before 9pm on Tuesday (10th December) and discovered over €27,000 in cash concealed – it was seized with a small quantity of cocaine.
Its driver, a man aged in his thirties, was arrested and detained at a garda station in County Tipperary – he’s since been charged and is due to appear before Nenagh District Court this morning (Thursday, 12th December 2024).
In a follow-up search of a home in Tipperary town that evening, €70,000 of suspected cocaine and €30,000 of what’s believed to be cannabis were found with a ‘significant’ amount of drugs paraphernalia.
Yesterday (Wednesday, 11th December) Gardaí then seized a car in Limerick in connection with the money laundering investigation.
