Man arrested after yesterday’s chase in Kilkenny

A special sitting of Kilkenny District court is to be held later for a man arrested on the M9 motorway yesterday.

He was detained after Gardaí chased a car from the city to Paulstown after it had failed to stop when involved in an earlier collision on John Street.

The other occupants of the silver Mercedes fled on foot when they abandoned the car on the northbound lane of the M9 close to Paulstown.

Gardai still want to hear from anyone who might have seen them in the area after 4 o clock yesterday.

The man they did arrest was charged with possession of implements used in connection with burglaries and is due before the court.

The car was seized.
