Man due before court in county Laois in connection with organised crime investigation

A man’s due before Portlaoise District Court today in connection with an investigation into organised crime.

Aged in his thirties, he was arrested and charged this morning as part of ongoing investigations into the activities of a crime group believed to be based in Leinster.

Laois Offaly Divisional Crime and Drugs Unit has been leading the investigation into the sale and distribution of drugs and related criminal activity across not just those two counties but also Carlow and Kildare since February last year.
