The manager of a local cancer support centre says she applauds the immense courage author Emma Hannigan has shown.
In the week since the mother-of-two announced via a Facebook post that her cancer is terminal, her campaign has raised more than €50,000 for cancer research and her new book has gone to number 1.
Manager of the Cois Nore Centre in Kilkenny, Mags Bowen says many people in Emma’s position find writing therapeutic – especially writing something personal for their children.
Speaking to KCLR’s ‘Saturday Show’ this morning, she says it’s something they facilitate in their centre.
