The trolley & ward watch figures for March have broken several records.
That’s according to the Irish Nurses & Midwives Organisation which compiles the details & issues a daily list with annual analysis.
10,511 patients were found waiting for an in-patient bed across the month with 3,112 of those in one week while a new high of 714 were on trolleys awaiting admission on one day alone – 191 children were also in this predicament.
Year on year, St Luke’s Hospital for Carlow & Kilkenny saw a jump in numbers from 364 to 603.
Yesterday at that local facility 42 people were waiting, making it the third toughest facility to get a bed in behind University Hospital Limerick’s 72 & 55 at Cork University Hospital’s.
While at University Hospital Waterford 16 people made the list.
