Mayor of Carlow declares ‘war on dog fouling’

The Mayor of Carlow has declared war on dog fouling.

Fintan Phelan says it’s an issue that needs to be tackled for once and for all.

A new awareness campaign was launched by the council recently and the Mayor says he hopes it will have the desired impact.

He says, “there will be enforcement of this issue and I think very soon when there are fines issued people will begin to change their behaviour and will see how unfair it is for wheelchair [users] and for kids.”

“There also needs to be more bins provided along the paths.”
