Andrew McGuinness is the new Mayor of Kilkenny.
It’s his first time in the role although his father and grandfather also wore the chain previously.

The Fianna Fail Councillor was voted in last night at the first meeting of the new Kilkenny municipal district.
He won out by 8 votes to 4 over Green party Councillor Malcolm Noonan.

Earlier yesterday members of the Piltown Municipal district elected Fianna Fails Eamon Aylward as their new Chair and his colleague Ger Frisby as vice Chairperson.
