Medical services most pressing issue when it comes to Carlow/Laois boundary review, says local councillor

In a separate review of the Carlow/Laois county boundaries the three-man commission recommended no change.

But a local councillor says the issue of medical services to those who live in the border area is more important.

Walter Lacey says the boundary committee recommended that the department should start discussions with the HSE and Tusla to treat Carlow as one catchment area for the Health Services.

He says those on the Laois side of Graiguecullen now have to travel to Portlaoise.
