The first plenary session of the new European Parliament takes place this morning with two local ladies among the participants.
Kilkenny woman Kathleen Funchion and Carlow native Cynthia Ní Mhurchú will take their seats at the table for the first time.
They with 718 other MEPs are set to focus this week on the elections of the Parliament President, European Commission President and Parliament Bureau.
