Minister for European Affairs during Kilkenny visit expresses confidence in Ireland’s preparations to handle security during Ireland’s EU Presidency hosting

The Minister for European Affairs has expressed confidence in Ireland’s preparation to handle security during the upcoming EU Presidency.

Thomas Byrne during yesterday’s visit to Kilkenny told KCLR News that the budget for the event is significant and while acknowledging risks, stressed An Garda Síochána is equipped and ready to respond to any potential threats.

Minister Byrne also noted that other holders of the office elsewhere face similar challenges.
