You’re being reminded to recognise and appreciate the work of the over 4,000 family carers in Kilkenny and the 2,000 plus in Carlow this week.
The 11th National Carers’ Week is taking place across the country from today.
In total, over 350,000 people in Ireland identify themselves as a family Carer.
Locally, the majority are women, at 62% in Kilkenny and 60% in Carlow.
Liam O’Sullivan is coordinator of National Carers’ Week. He says carers are an integral part of our
society.
