Carlow and Kilkenny county councils spent nearly €15,000 between them on St Patrick’s Day trips this year.
Two officials from Kilkenny travelled this year with four sent from Carlow.
€5,700 was spent by the local authority in Kilkenny and more than €9,000 by Carlow.
