A new bus route linking Ballinabranna, Fenagh and Myshall with Carlow Town and Bunclody has moved a step closer.
Councillor Daniel Pender has welcomed confirmation that the National Transport Authority has completed preparatory work on the service.
The route is still subject to funding and regulatory approvals, with no timeframe yet announced.
Cllr Pender says the issue is important and he will continue to push for money. “It’s something that we’ll just have to wait and see on however we are further along than we were before and it’s incredibly important that I continue to push on this and I’ll apply pressure to the NTA to try and allocate funding to this project as it would serve areas that are not served at all at the moment and would benefit greatly from having this.”
