A €129million budget for 2026 has been approved by Kilkenny County Council.
Councillors unanimously agreed on its provisions at a special meeting last evening – there’s no cuts for core services and an extra €9million on last year, including an extra €6m for Housing and Building.
But there is a 4% increase for some commercial rates – that’s something Local Authority CEO Lar Power says was unavoidable.
KCLR News’ Dermot Keyes was at the meeting and outlined details on The KCLR Daily.
