It seems there has been a marked improvement at the Emergency Department for St Lukes Hospital for Carlow Kilkenny today.
The situation peaked on Tuesday of this week when management opted to issue a statement asking people to stay away if at all possible as the department came under severe pressure.
There was an improvement yesterday and it seems the situation today is better again with the latest report from the INMO recording no patients on trolleys at the local hospital.
However as it is still a very busy season the hospital is still asking that people visit their GP before presenting at the Emergency Department there.
