One woman is dead and another injured following a crash in County Laois.
The two car collision happened at Junction 21 on the M7, eastbound, at Borris-in-Ossory just after 4pm yesterday (Thursday, 28th November).
The female motorist aged in her eighties was pronounced dead at the scene with her body removed to Portlaoise Mortuary for post mortem examination.
While the driver of the other car, who’s aged in her fifties, was taken to Midlands Regional Hospital in Tullamore where it’s understood she’s receiving treatment for serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Anybody who witnessed the incident is asked to come forward, in particular those who have any kind of camera footage.
It’s the second road fatality in counties neighbouring Carlow and Kilkenny in two days.
