An investigation is underway after a van failed to stop for Gardaí in Carlow last night.
An operation to stop the sale and supply of illegal fireworks called Operation Tombola was underway when an unmarked patrol car tried to stop a vehicle at 7.25pm.

The van failed to stop and after a short pursuit it stopped suddenly and two men decamped and fled, the van was seized and brought to Carlow Garda ststion for a follow up search where the firework discovery was made.
