Owner of Kilkenny City business appeals for someone else to take it over before it shuts for good

There’s a chance the latest shop closure in Kilkenny City could be reversed.

A number of local businesses ceased trading over the Easter Weekend – “Roots and Fruits”, Aubergine, Mr. Simms and Ryan’s XL.

Owner of XL, John Ryan, says rising rates and payroll costs are the reasons behind his tough decision to close.

However, John says the shop on Ormonde St could still be a viable enterprise for someone who’s able to put the time into it.
