Part of former Kilkenny orphanage up for sale

A building that was formerly part of the St Joseph’s Orphanage site in Kilkenny is to be sold.

The building that was used by the nuns running the facility, the Sisters of Charity, as their residential and administrative quarters is being sold by private treaty by the Mill Hill Fathers.

It’s set on a 1.7 acre site on the Waterford Road.

The building was previously sold to the Fathers and is home to five of their retired members at the moment.

Auctioneer David Fitzgerald is involved in the sale and he told KCLR News they’re now moving to elsewhere
