A pensioner was pulled from a house fire in Carlow – that Gardaí believe may have been deliberately set alight.
At about 10.30 last night, Gardaí were called to a burning house on Maryborough Street, Carlow Town.
Officers, along with the fire service, managed to get into the building and rescued a man in his 70s who was treated for minor injuries by paramedics at the scene.
Carlow Gardaí say they suspect that something was thrown through one of the windows to set fire to the house.
They’re looking to speak to anyone who may have been in that area around Maryborough Street between 9.30 and 11 last night – or who has any information – to contact them on 059 9136620.
