Petition to get school warden to help youngsters safely across the road in Ballinabranna

Weeks after the start of a new school year children in Ballinabranna are still waiting on a warden to help them across the road safely.

The matter will be raised at Carlow county council meeting later.

In the meantime parents of the 200 pupils attending have started a petition online which they intend to present to the council as part of their campaign to get a full-time warden for the school.

Councillor Arthur McDonald told KCLR news that an interim plan must be put in place to resolve the matter as soon as possible.
