Plans are in place to develop a new Outdoor Activity Hub in Carlow Town Park.
The pilot initiative would act as a ‘one stop shop’ for various clubs and not-for-profits promoting fishing, water safety, water sports and other activities.
The council is proposing that it be located where the existing water activity infrastructure is in the park by the River Barrow.
Speaking to KCLR News, local Councillor John Cassin says a facility like this would hopefully entice a lot more people to the area.
The plans are to be discussed by councillors at this week’s Municipal District meeting on Thursday.
