President of Kilkenny Chamber says city outlet closure is ‘incredibly disappointing’ and ‘of grave concern’

The President of Kilkenny Chamber says it is deeply concerned following the closure of another business in the city centre.

As reported yesterday Santeria Sandwich Club has decided to close after just 11 months of trading – Claire McInerney Brown says it’s particularly worrying as the business owners are experienced operators with a successful track record locally.

She says despite taking a calculated risk on a new venture, the decision to close so soon after opening is disappointing for owners, staff, and the wider business community.

Plan now is to speak with the owner to understand the issues as Ms McInerney Brown outlined for KCLR News’ Dermot Keyes;
