Record numbers on trolleys at St Lukes in November

After its busiest November on record the situation at St Lukes Emergency Department doesnt seem to have eased today.

It’s the second busiest hospital in the country today with 36 patients on trolleys according to todays report from the Irish Nurses and Midwives organisation.

It comes after statistics for November showed nearly 400 patients had to wait on trolleys at the local hospital.

General Secretary of the INMO is Kilkenny’s Liam Doran – he says  it’s a direct consequence of fundamentally flawed decision making.
