Rents in Carlow and Kilkenny are now the highest they’ve been in at least 14 years.

The cost of renting homes in Carlow and Kilkenny has gone up again.

That’s according to the Daft. ie rental report for the third quarter of the year

Kilkenny has seen the biggest jump in rent costs with a rise of 11.9 per cent while it was 8.3 per cent in Carlow.

In Kilkenny the average price for an advertised rent is now €770 which is up 35% from their lowest point.

In Carlow the typical rent is now €736 which is up 24%.

Rents rose nationwide by an average of 11.7% in the year to September 2016.

This is the largest annual increase in rents ever recorded in the Daft.ie Report, which extends back to 2002.
