As results day approaches local Leaving certs are being urged not to panic

As results day approaches for leaving cert students, they’re being urged to carefully examine their results when they collect them.

It’s the first year that the new common points scale has been used, meaning 14 different results have been reduced to just eight.

More than 58,000 students will be ripping open their envelopes on Wednesday and they’re being reminded that they can also avail of eir’s Freephone Helpline on 1800 265 165 if they have any questions about their results.

Gemma Lawler, Guidance counsellor with the new Tyndall college in Carlow told KCLR news its important students remember that there are options available for everyone.
