Sadness as death announced of popular presenter, designer, actor and former Carlow Kilkenny constituency Chair for Fine Gael

The death has been announced of a county Kilkenny based designer, presenter and actor.

Orla Kelly lived in Dungarvan but was well-known nationally – she led her own design business, fronted TV shows and also a series for KCLR but first and foremost for her was her husband Blaise and two daughers Freagh and Morgan.

Often spotted open swimming in the River Nore, Orla was also passionate about politics, her family steeped in it for many years, and she served time as Fine Gael’s Chair for the Carlow Kilkenny constituency – current holder of that role Damien Donoghue has been paying tribute this morning;
