It’s estimated more than 1.6 million people in Gaza and Lebanon are facing into a homeless wet and freezing winter.
That’s according to Action Aid Ireland which says many will only have fabric or thin plastic sheets to protect them from the weather.
The agency also says displaced people are being exposed to the cold and rain, with little or no aid entering the region.
CEO of Action Aid Ireland Karol Balfe says; “The conditions are really just beyond miserable and completely inhumane, temperatures are beginning to drop considerably below freezing in some cases in both Gaza and Lebanon, there’s 1.6million people between Gaza and Lebanon, who are without proper shelter, they’re living in makeshift tents and it’s just simply shocking and unacceptable that people are living in these conditions”.
