Some Carlow and Kilkenny involvement in the Amgen Irish Open at Doonbeg

Golf fans from Carlow and Kilkenny are among those flocking to county Clare for the Amgen Irish Open.

There’s plenty of local involvement too on and off the Trump International Golf Links course, which is hosting the event for its first time.

Kilkenny player Mark Power is the first of the Irish out today (just before 8am) with reigning champ Rory McIlroy (1:35pm) and Shane Lowry (1:45pm), who won in 2009, among the stars on the first day of action.
