The Government and National Ambulance Service need to show paramedics they’re really serious about the issue of pay.
That’s the view of Sinn Fein, which says there has to be movement so further industrial action by ambulance staff can be averted.
SIPTU and Unite have called off next Tuesday’s strike action but a work-to rule is still in place, with plans for a 72-hour work stoppage later this month including in Carlow and Kilkenny.
The party’s health spokesperson, South East based David Cullinane, says ambulance workers need pay promises to be delivered.
