South Kilkenny councillors have been updated on the now-likely return of commercial passenger aircraft to the region.
Waterford Airport’s General Manager briefed the Piltown Municipal District representatives at their monthly meeting with a presentation on the next steps needed to get the project off the ground with summer 2027 the target.
It follows last month’s vote by Waterford City and County Council to accept a €30m investment by an American business person to enhance the facility and upgrade the runway to accept jet aircraft.
