St Luke’s is one of the most overcrowded hospitals in the country again today
20 patients are waiting for beds at the General Hospital for Carlow and Kilkenny, according to figures from the Irish Nurses & Midwives Organisation.
Just two other such facilities have higher figures; 39 are at University Hospital Limerick with 31 at Cork University Hospital, while there are also 20 people on trollies at Sligo University Hospital.
Management at St Luke’s says you will face delays if you go to the local hospital due to the ongoing disruption from HSE ransomeware attack.
They’re asking you to turn up for any appointment but to be patient if you’re delayed.
