Local families of nurses working abroad are being urged this Christmas to let them know St Luke’s is recruiting at the moment.
The Director of Nursing at the local hospital says they would be delighted to get as many CV’s as they can over the festive period.
A major recruitment drive has been launched there in the last week.
Helen Butler says they are looking to fill a number of roles:
“We did have 25 vacancies. We’re in the process of filling those. Quite a few are from nurses overseas.
“We still have about seven vacancies presently but we have been given the resources to open the 14 beds over capacity.
“We need 12 more staff for that and the sooner we get in the staff, the sooner we’ll have it open.”
