The union’s General Secretary, Kilkenny Man ,Liam Doran has described the overcrowding and the staffing levels in Irish hospitals as “deplorable” and “unacceptable.”
12 regional meetings were held in the past number of weeks where it was decided that they should be balloted for industrial action.
The result will be known by mid-December.
Speaking to KCLR News today, Liam Doran critised the working terms and conditions for nurses.
He added that St Luke’s hospital is under- staffed, and as a result community and public health nurses are over worked.
