A 24-hour national ambulance strike may be coming to a close this morning, but the dispute is far from over.
2,000 paramedics and EMTs walked out yesterday in a long-running dispute over pay and grading having taken part in a work-to-rule on Monday.
The pickets come down at 8am but there’s another 48-hour strike scheduled for next Tuesday (19th May) with a 72-hour stoppage the week after unless talks resume.
The Minister for Health is urging both sides back to the table.
