Syrians living in Carlow and Kilkenny react to the toppling of President Bashar al-Assad’s regime

Syrians living locally have been reacting to the toppling of President Bashar al-Assad’s regime.

The UN Security Council’s meeting later to discuss the situation in Syria – while global leaders have welcomed the fall, there are concerns about who will now lead the country.

Fadi Almasri and his family were resettled in Ireland by the United Nations in 2014 and he’s since opened up a number of pharmacies, his first in Ballon.
