Teach Tom volunteers deliver their surplus Christmas shoeboxes to Apollo House

Volunteers with a local charity are making their way to Apollo House today.

Some 200 shoeboxes full of goods, donated to Teach Tom for their Christmas shoebox appeal are being delivered to the homeless in Dublin.

Apollo House – which is a NAMA-owned property in Dublin – has remained occupied across the weekend, by activists providing accommodation for the homeless.

Angela Hayes, founder of Teach Tom, told KCLR News this morning that because they received so many shoeboxes they have more than enough to go around.

More than 200 have already been put aside for Kilkenny’s homeless this Christmas.
