Irish radio appears to be enjoying its highest ever audience.
The latest JNLR/Ipsos survey which covers January to December 2024 says 3.9 million people across the country are tuning in – that’s up by more than 100,000 on 2023.
Kilkenny man John Purcell is Chair of the Independent Broadcasters of Ireland and also CEO of KCLR and says; “In a world with so much disinformation and an online environment where there is so much toxic and damaging content it’s fantastic to see radio doing so well with Irish audiences”.
He adds; “In Carlow and Kilkenny radio, and in particular KCLR, remains hugely popular and powerful, thanks to the more than 60,000 people who tune into us every week, we really appreciate your loyalty, thank you”.
