First tonight we heard from Northern Ireland journalist and commentator Richard Halloran of Agriland who gave his opinions on the latest known developments as regards Brexit and also issues of common interest to farmers in both the North and South of the island.
James Murphy of Kilkenny IFA joined us to discuss the factious issues around beef, especially in the finishing sector. He told us that the IFA is pursuing all available avenues to improve the lot of beef producers and invited those in the sector to an IFA organised meeting to seek ideas and share ideas. It will be held on Monday, April 15th at the Killeshin Hotel, Portlaoise.
Terry Carroll, Livestock Adviser with Teagasc spoke to us about an event happening at Kildalton College on Friday April 12th to highlight the benefits of improving both grassland management and the genetics of a suckler herd to raise profitability.
