Tonight we had the second of the Kilkenny Lions Club auction so the programme wrapped itself around the updates. Once again, the farming community showed their mettle and we had a brisk trade with many lots selling out.
Joining in us in Studio was Thomas Ryan, Environment Executive with the IFA who spoke about the challenges of climate change and the initiatives that the farming community is taking to mitigate these changes and risks.
Michael Fitzgerald of Teagasc gave and end of year update on fodder reserves and also outlined the need for farmers to plan ahead in terms of financial and physical management around the farm. He also advised taking a break if at all possible in advance of the busy spring period.
We had the weekly Farm Diary sponsored by Tullow Mart and Michael Lynch joined us from Kilkenny Mart to give the Kilkenny Mart Report.
