Excitement is building in Tullow Rugby Club ahead of the Bank of Ireland Provincial Towns Cup final this weekend.
Tullow will face Athy Rugby Club in Edenderry on Sunday, with kick-off at 3pm. The game will be broadcast live on KCLR Plus, with coverage brought to you thanks to New Moon Tullow.
It has been a positive spell for the club both on and off the pitch. In recent weeks, Tullow’s women’s side secured their status in the All-Ireland League with a play-off victory over Shannon RFC.
Club President Mary O’Brien says the unity across all levels of the club has been key to their success.
“We have about 550 playing members, between minis, youths, ladies and men’s. We have had great success with players going on to the South East, Leinster and Ireland. The girls are behind the lads, the lads are behind the girls — it’s been absolutely brilliant.”
There will be further build-up to the final on a special edition of the KCLR Sport Podcast, released later today with thanks to Morrissey Minchin Solicitors, Bridge Street, Tullow.
