The price of a 3-bed home in Kilkenny & Carlow still on the increase

House prices locally are up 6% in Carlow and 13% in Kilkenny

House prices for a three-bed semi in Carlow rose by 6.3% in the last 12 months with Kilkenny’s more than double that at 13.2%.

The Real Estate Alliance index for 2017 shows that the average amount for a three-bed semi in Carlow was €163,750 while its Kilkenny equivalent was €206,500.

However both fell short of the national average of €229,111.

The increase trend appears to have slowed a little for the three bed semi but is still evident with both counties experiencing ups of a further1% in the three months between last December & this March.

REA reps have noted that sales across that period were static, some blaming this on the bouts of bad weather others on the lack of enough homes to sell.
