Tributes paid to legendary actor whose Mother was from Kilkenny

Tributes have been paid to legendary British actor Michael Byrne.

The star of stage and screen he featured in a range of films including in ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows’, Indiana Jones, and as Coronation Street’s Ted Page.

He died aged in his eighties on the 20th of June and The Guardian reports that he was raised by his Mother Helen Byrne, a cook who was originally from Kilkenny. (Read their article here).
