Carlow is saying goodbye and thank you to two of its longstanding emergency services personnel.
Community Policing Sgt Conor Egan’s retired after 33 years service, most of that locally.

Yesterday colleagues past and present as well as representatives of a host of organisations gathered at the town garda station to pay tribute to him for his commitment as well as an ability to defuse situations and get things done.
Supt Anthony Farrell has this to say;
While the county Fire services is loosing Terry Fitzpatrick who bows out today just two weeks shy of 43 years working there.
