With the 7th of June set as the date for the Local Elections, more candidate declarations have been made.
Two names have been added as separate Independent hopefuls in Kilkenny.
City man Michael McGrath says he’s the candidate against the mass immigration which he believes is being forced on Ireland.
An author, he worked too with the old Kilkenny Journal and was a photographer for The Munster Express; he also previously spent time employed by the Department of local Government (Housing) in Dublin.
While Dr Toluwani Akaehomen is a peace commissioner, community leader, educator and mother of four whose campaign priorities are community focus, local economy and housing supply.
She announced her intention to run with a special event which united people of different cultural and social backgrounds including representatives from the Irish, Ukrainian, Nigerian, and other African countries communities.
Both are set to contest seats in the city electoral area.
