Two Kilkenny solar farms have been granted significant planning permissions.
Harmony Solar Kilkenny is to build 46 hectares of solar panels in Smithstown outside Kilkenny city.
The site will also have an electrical substation and inverter-transformer stations and is planned to be in operation for 10 years.
Callan Community Energy Company has been given the go-ahead for a new grid connection.
The 3.6km connection with be between the already consented Ballytobin Solar Farm to the ESB substation south of Callan.
It will consist of half a kilometre of overhead line and just over 3km of underground cable.
