Two major clean ups planned locally today

The Loughboy area of Kilkenny City will be squeeky clean by the end of today!
A big community clean-up has been organised to take place by Keep Kilkenny Beautiful and the Environment Section of the local council.
However, Councillor Malcolm Noonan says more organising has gone into this than one might think because it’s coinciding with Kilkenny’s sister city in Italy.
Meanwhile, A major clean-up of the River Barrow is also taking place today.
Volunteers are being asked to head to the Boathouse in Graiguenamanagh to help remove litter from both the Barrow and the Duiske rivers.
It’s all part of World Rivers Day which is being marked today.
