There could be new jobs on the cards for Carlow if a new free broadband initiative has the desired effect.
Vodafone and SIRO are teaming up to roll out the plan in 15 towns including Carlow.
It will see free broadband connectivity offered for 2 years to local start-up business hubs who qualify to be part of the initiative.
Sean Atkinson of SIRO told KCLR News that IT Carlow was one of the reasons why they chose to roll in out in Carlow town.
The company which is a joint venture of Vodafone and ESB is already in the process of rolling out its 100% fibre optic network in Carlow.
Businesses can apply through the Vodafone website to get involved in this free broadband initiative.
