An urgent meeting has been organised to try and once again secure the future of a local post office.
Back in 2015 there had been huge concerns that Inistioge Post Office would shut its doors after the post master and mistress announced their retirement.
But after much public and political outrage, a new person was found to take over and An Post decided that the service would be retained.
However, it now seems that closure is once again on the cards as it’s supposed to be moved into the local shop that opened earlier this year.
Speaking to KCLR News, Inistioge Councillor Michael Doyle says they’ll need to raise up to €15,000 to make this happen.
The meeting will take place this Thursday at 8.30pm in Cois Abhainn.
